Prosecutors
The court does not employ any of the prosecutors or their staff. The prosecutors are part of the executive branch of the government, a separate branch of the justice system. The court is part of the judicial branch of the government. In the Oberlin Municipal Court there are several prosecutors that represent the various territories in the Oberlin Municipal Court district. Amherst Prosecutor
The Amherst city prosecutor handles offenses that occur in the City of Amherst. The prosecutor is Patrick Ward. The prosecutor is appointed by the Amherst Law Director. Oberlin Prosecutor
The Oberlin city prosecutor handles offenses that occur in the City of Oberlin and in unincorporated areas in the jurisdiction of the Oberlin Municipal Court. The prosecutor is Farah Emeka. Wellington Prosecutor
The Wellington Village prosecutor handles offenses that occur in the Village of Wellington. The prosecutor is Joseph LaVeck. The Mayor appoints the Prosecutor. The Law Director is Stephen Bond. Kipton Prosecutor
The Kipton prosecutor handles offenses that occur in the Village of Kipton. The Village of Kipton prosecutor is Margaret O’Bryon. Ms. O’Bryon is also the Law Director for the Village of Kipton. She is appointed by Village Council.
South Amherst Prosecutor
The South Amherst Prosecutor handles offenses that occur in the Village of South Amherst. The Village of South Amherst prosecutor is Farah Emeka. The South Amherst Prosecutor is appointed by the South Amherst Law Director. The South Amherst Law Director is Quentin Nolan. The Law Director is appointed by Village Council.
